Yes, the Master policy will cover the building exterior and common areas outside the unit. If their was a loss due to say fire or tornado the policy would cover restoring the unit to Base specifications. All unit improvements are the responsibility of each unit owner to insure. Make sure you have Liability insurance that covers you and your improvements along with personal property.
